Three Amigos

There was a baby boom of sorts in our family this year. Jack came first, then Kyle a couple months later, and Wesley a few months after that. We all have high hopes they will be great friends.Getting a picture of three babies four-ish months and younger at the end of a long night is definitely a challenge, but I think they did swell. I can't wait until they are running around getting into trouble together. Hurray for little boys!

Baby Love

Baby Kyle from Katie Crabb on Vimeo.

I have a very gifted, talented, adorable sister in law.  Well I have a few actually, but this wonderful video is thanks to Kate. She did our wedding video as well, and it is beyond amazing. When she asked about doing a Kyle video I was elated. She and Jeff came over early (very early) last Saturday morning and she just kinda filmed our morning routine (forgive my appearance, focus on the cuteness of the men). Anyways I can't thank her enough for this awesome memory I will always have. Check out Katie for all your video needs, I promise you will never be disappointed. Thanks Kate!

Growth

When I was little I had a cactus. I LOVED it. It passed away in the Missouri to Utah move. I then had to live cacti free for a few years, it was rough. Then one wonderful Christmas, my sister once again brought cacti into my life. Sadly I don't have a picture of my originals. But the point is, it was a three pack of MINI cacti from Ikea, you might know the type I mean.

Well then I graduated from high school and moved into an essentially sunless dorm room. Alas, the cacti could not come with me.  But I spent my summers with them when I went home and they thrived in my mothers wonderful care. Then I got married. I was SO excited at the thought I would get to take my cacti with me to live. I painted new pots and got them all ready for the big day. Turns out we moved into an essentially sunless apartment. So they remained with my mom. Well, THREE moves later we have WINDOWS! Tons of sun pours in every day. So when I went to fetch my cacti, I realized they had grown SO MUCH! They were in bad need of new pots. This would be the third time they required a bigger home. And so we got some new pots and moved them in.

I love the new pots and I think they love their new home. A big thanks to Michelle and Chris for the brilliant gift years ago, and also to my mom who acted as the caregiver for many years thus making this beautiful reunion possible. I wish these pictures showed how huge they have gotten. They all started no taller and 2 inches or so, now the tallest one is about a FOOT tall. Pictures cant do justice, so you should probably come visit our cacti friends in person. They are fantastic, and very happy to be home.

Fun in the February Sun

Did anyone go outside Saturday? Or yesterday? Holy smokes it is soooo nice outside! Yes, snow is coming again this evening but celebrate what ya get right? Well Saturday was fabulous. Ryan and I not only got to attend Utah getting Jimmered, we drove to the game with the sun roof open! It was so nice to feel some sun! We also went to Outback with some gift cards we had been saving. What does this mean? Rack of lamb. Sorry vegetarians, I love my meat. It was a delicious day. And yesterday? Yesterday Kyle and I went for a walk...OUTSIDE! I know it won't last, but what a nice preview of spring.

Long, lean, adorable machine

Yesterday Kyle turned 2 months! Has it flown by? Yes. Does it also feel like we have had him for years? Yes. Everyone told me the first two months are the hardest and that it gets better. I think I believe them now. We are all getting a little more sleep, enjoying the smiles and lil' "convos" we have, and feeling more like ourselves again. Of course I am sure we have started on a journey of constant adjustments but it is all settling in a little more each day.

I took the little guy in for his check up today. He is doing well! He weighs 9 lbs. 10 oz. (15th percentile) and is 23.5 inches long (75th percentile). So as the doctor put it, long and lean. He wasn't really a fan of the shots, but who can blame him? We are often told how lucky we are to have such a good, peaceful baby. We don't know any different but we try to acknowledge we have it easy. He is usually happy, content, and chill. So no complaints here. We are a bit nervous for future children not being so easily pleased now that we think all babies are this way. But I suppose we will cross that bridge when we come to it? Til then we will soak up this lil guy. It may sound cliche, but he really does make me smile every single day.

the aardvark of my life

Today I got glasses. Only for reading, but the fact remains I am now a glasses wearer. Why does this excite me? Well aside from the decrease in headaches and being able to read for longer periods of time, it means I am more like someone I admire. Yes...I have been known to set my alarm on Sunday mornings to make sure I get up in time for Arthur. And yes, if you looked at the instant queue on our netflix account you would notice several seasons of the fabulous show listed and often listed as the most recently watched. What can I say? He has had my heart for years, I love his books and show, and today, I became a little more like him.

superpackedsunday

SO yesterday was a very busy but great day! It just so happened Kyle's blessing day and the super bowl were on the same blessed day. The combo made for a festive day! Kyle was blessed in the morning and then we had a bash at our place after, and then we headed to my parents later for a football party. A good time was had by all. All of it happening in one day really made me think about how funny culture and traditions are. I mean really, a baby blessing lasts two minutes yet everyone gathers and we throw a party for it. And then we make certain foods and throw a big party for a football game every year. How do I feel about this? FABULOUS. I love any excuse to have a festive party. It was really fun to have so many people come support our little family. We really felt the love.I tried to get some good pics but I tend to get lost in the festivities and leave the camera behind. I think someone has some more shots of decor and such from the blessing but I don't wanna wait to get those... so I will just post what I have!
Tubbing for his big day!

Please excuse my face in all these...sinus infection+eye infection= ug pics.

(this is the day before...our nephew got baptized and I got Kyle dressed and Ry ended up coming out in a matching outfit without knowing it. Had to document.)

Lookin gooood lil' man!

Lundgreen men all ready.

The fam

Ryan playing with his sweet rc helicopter before the big game. (this is Ryan's after church outfit..changes everything but the socks every week...makes me laugh every week..)

I made deep dish pizza for the game...it was my first time ever using yeast. Why is this a big deal? I have been scared away from recipe after recipe over the years because they require yeast. I dunno why I was so intimidated by an ingredient...but I finally faced my fears. So I had Ryan take a pic of the yeast and I before I began. I succeeded by the way.

Have you been to Pirate O's? Its a specialty food store in Draper. It is such a fun store! Anyways they have a walk in refrigerator full of different kinds of root beer. My dad got a few for us to sample and served them in this cute lil way.

So that's it! Kyle is blessed, the super bowl is over for another year and life goes on as usual. Good thing there is another holiday next week to keep the party alive!

Wednesday's Suite Treat

So they way our schedule goes we don't spend much time as a family. Ryan is always gone with school and work until late at night so we cherish our weekends and late late after work nights together. Which is all good but kinda gets old after a while (not to whine, many others have it worse I know). Well yesterday something wonderful happened. Ryan's dear sister Becky and her family called and invited us to a Jazz game...in a box suite! Even better news? Ryan got the night off work. So we packed up the lil guy and headed downtown.  The Jazz were defeated in a sad little way, but the night was a mid-week gem. We had so much fun and it was just great to get out and have some fun. A big thanks to the Kemps and Ryan's boss for letting him off.
